Kitchen Countertops

Granite is arguably the best type of countertop for a kitchen because it is durable and elegant. Granite is scratch, heat, and chemical resistant, making it ideal for kitchens. You can place a hot pot or pan directly on the granite without worrying that the granite will crack or weaken. Try to avoid repeatedly placing a hot pot or pan on the same area of the granite countertop, as it may cause that area to become discolored.

Bathroom Countertops

A backsplash is more than just a decorative addition to a kitchen or bathroom. It serves an important purpose. A backsplash protects the wall from becoming water damaged or stained from water or other substances. Water seeping behind the counters and down the wall can cause water damage. Your counters will inevitably get wet in a kitchen or bathroom, so a backsplash in your kitchen or bathroom will protect the walls from water damage.

Granite Countertops

We have an entire granite vs. quartz blog post dedicated to this question! To put it simply, granite is 100% stone, while quartz is a mixture of stone and other materials—approximately 95% stone and 5% polymer resins. We recommend choosing the countertop based on how it looks and fits in your kitchen rather than if it is granite or quartz.

Quartz Countertop

Quartz is the hardest countertop material you can buy. It is virtually indestructible. Quartz also doesn’t have pores like granite, so it’s a great surface to keep clean, as there are no places for bacteria to run. The downside to quartz is that it is not heat-resistant. You can’t place a hot hair tool directly onto the quartz for a bathroom, or it will become damaged. However, quartz countertops in a bathroom may be worth the money because they are elegant and virtually indestructible.
